WHAT’S new about DOZO?
Dozo launched in 2023 with a unique four-course tasting menu for $75 per person, inspired by the Omakase tradition of service most often found in Japan. We lovingly referred to this experience as “The Tour”, and while guests could also select additional feature dishes and wine/sake pairings, “The Tour” was a mandatory commitment for any reservation.
It was special. It was memorable. And while it was a wholly unique experience that worked for a lot of folks, it didn’t work for everyone. For us at The Idea Collective, thats a problem…
We welcomely received valuable and consistent feedback over our first 18 months of service that guests wanted and needed more variety and more versatility in the menu offerings, and we agreed! As we do, we went back to the drawing board, reset the space and revamped the team, and decided to try something more approachable under the new leadership of Chef Jake Montanye.
Dozo returned in Summer 2025 with a traditional service model, developed to provide MORE guests with more agency over their fine dining sushi experience. The new menu maintains the same level of creativity and innovation, anchored by the steadfast commitment to premium, globally-sourced ingredients Dozo is revered for, but without the forced election of a tasting menu.
Our signature nigiri compositions remain on offer, now served as 2-piece plates. You asked for our take on sushi rolls? We have a bunch of those now, too, that will blow your mind. You loved our appetizers and small plates that kicked off “The Tour”? We expanded that selection as well. You can still go on an adventure at Dozo, and we’re here to be your Tour Guide… now, you just have a few more choices to make.
WHAT HAPpENED TO “THE TOUR”? i still want that tasting menu…
It’s not gone forever, don’t you worry! While we will be taking some time to refine and perfect our new service model, we do plan to offer “The Tour” menu and experience again soon in a limited capacity, and served traditionally at the Chef’s Counter, exclusively. Follow us on Instagram at @dozodyt for updates and pop-up dinner experiences moving forward.
